Norse Projects is a Danish contemporary menswear brand based in Copenhagen, founded in 2004 by Tobia Sloth, Anton Juul, and Mikkel Grønnebæk. Beginning as an art gallery and streetwear retail space before launching its own clothing line in 2009, Norse Projects has grown into one of Scandinavia’s most internationally recognised menswear labels — known for its Nordic minimalism, functional design, high-quality fabrics, and a quietly authoritative aesthetic that sits between streetwear and refined contemporary dress.

History
Sloth, Juul, and Grønnebæk opened the Norse Projects store in Copenhagen in 2004 as a concept space merging streetwear retail, skateboarding culture, and an art gallery programme. The store’s first branded product was a T-shirt created in collaboration with Danish artist Husk Mit Navn — when the graphic tee proved successful within the local community, the case for an own-label clothing line became clear. The Norse Projects menswear line launched in 2009 with an initial focus on graphic T-shirts, beanies, and simple outerwear, and quickly found an international following among men who valued Nordic functionalism applied to everyday clothing.
In 2013 the brand was named one of the 15 best Scandinavian menswear brands by Complex. A womenswear line was introduced in 2015. Collaborations include ongoing partnerships with New Balance, Adidas, GORE-TEX, Vans, and Dr. Martens. The brand is stocked by SSENSE, END., MR PORTER, and international retailers.
Aesthetic
Norse Projects’ design language is defined by restraint: muted colours, clean silhouettes, and a functional sensibility rooted in the demands of Northern European weather. The brand’s technical outerwear — particularly the Thor and Fyn shell jackets using GORE-TEX fabrics — represents its clearest expression: garments that look understated from the outside but deploy serious performance materials. The brand’s tagline “Created for Life — Good for All Seasons” is a genuine design brief, not just marketing copy.
